We are Yoshida Jisaku Shoten. We’d like to take a moment to introduce ourselves.
It might sound sudden, but we have a question: How often do you use “paper” these days?

To be honest, I spend most of my workdays staring at a computer screen.
Currently, I only find myself reaching for paper when I need to organize my thoughts or jot down a quick memo.
 In an era where “paperless” has been the norm for so long, this shift is only natural.
You, too, have likely seen fewer opportunities to use paper in your daily life.

“Paper is a precious resource from our forests. If we can avoid using it, we should.” We don’t intend to deny this perspective. However, as people who have made a living through paper for many years, we feel—perhaps selfishly—that it would be a great loss if the inherent charm of paper as a physical object were forgotten.

The act of writing (or drawing) while thinking of someone, the nervous excitement of handing over a letter, or the joy of cutting and pasting something together… We want to preserve the fluttering memories and experiences that paper brings to our lives.
Our mission is to create “paper goods” that are eco-friendly and innovative—never wasteful, but maximizing the potential of just the right amount of paper. With this passion, Yoshida Jisaku Shoten was born on June 1, 2023.

Actually, June 1st is also the anniversary of our company’s founding. While we are still at the beginning of our journey, we will continue to develop products and share stories to bring you ethical and inspiring paper goods. Thank you for reading this long message.
